Sonderegger Duo Violin and Piano
Brothers Alexander and Eduard Sonderegger are prizewinners at the Stuttgart Carl Wendling Competition for chamber music and have been performing together as the SONDEREGGER DUO for 20 years. The two musicians take over the professional family tradition and have devoted themselves to chamber music for violin and piano since early childhood. The repertoire of the duo consists of works from different epochs: from early classical to modern music.
They completed their concert exams at the State University for Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart with distinction. As chamber music partners, Alexander and Eduard Sonderegger were advised by several important musicians, such as by Anke Dill, Gerhard Schulz, Christine Busch, Stefan Fehlandt, Péter Nagy, Shoshana Rudiakov, Florian Wiek, Conradin Brotbek, Ralf Gothóni and Kirill Gerstein.
The most important performances of the duo include the performance of the double concerto by Mendelssohn-Bartholdy with the orchestra "Sinfonietta Lentua" in the Lentua Hall in the city of Kuhmo/Finland, a chamber music evening in the Maison Heinrich Heine in Paris and several joint concert performances with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of the City of Murmansk/Russia. In 2016 and 2018, they performed a concert as part of the «Rising Stars!» festival in Stuttgart. In 2019, the duo's debut CD with works by Brahms, Szymanowski and Enesco was supported by the Gert Volker Dill Foundation. Sponsored by the Helga Drews Foundation, the musicians made their debut in October 2022 at the Gasteig in Munich.
Alexander and Eduard Sonderegger teach piano and violin at the State University for Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart and at the University for Music and Theater in Munich.
