Amoniosa Ensemble Baroque Music
ARMONIOSA was founded in 2012, emerging from the artistic and cultural activities of the Diocesan Institute for Liturgy and Music of the Diocese of Asti. The ensemble was established by Francesco and Stefano Cerrato, Marco Demaria, and Daniele Ferretti. Its objective is to position itself as a leading formation on the international early-music scene, working with a rigorous approach to style and interpretation. Armoniosa performs on original period instruments to achieve an authentic sound and historically informed performance practice.
Significant artistic impulses came through collaborations with Reinhard Goebel at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg during the 2013/14 academic year, and through a special masterclass with Trevor Pinnock on Handel’s Concerti grossi op. 6 in Asti (2016). These encounters provided essential foundations for the ensemble’s artistic growth.
Armoniosa is regularly invited to renowned European festivals, including Mainzer Musiksommer (2016), Baltic Philharmonia Season in Gdańsk (2016), Alte Musik Live Berlin (2017), Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik (2017), Casa dei Mezzo Festival in Crete (2017), Grandezze & Meraviglie Modena (2017, 2023), and the Thüringer Bachwochen (2021). In 2019 the ensemble made its debut in Ljubljana and appeared at the Staatstheater Darmstadt. In 2024 it was invited by the Harmonia Sacra Festival in Valenciennes and the Pietà de’ Turchini in Naples. In 2025 Armoniosa performed at the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Musikverein Vienna.
Armoniosa has been actively engaged in recording since 2015, collaborating with labels such as MDG (Germany) and Rubicon Classics (UK). A new artistic chapter began in 2019 with an extensive research and recording project dedicated to Vivaldi’s L’Estro Armonico op. 3, released by RedDress, the ensemble’s own Italian label, distributed worldwide by Sony Music. The project received outstanding reviews across Europe. In 2022 Armoniosa released a distinctive recording of selected masterpieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, also on RedDress.
