David Moliner Composer and Percussionist
Described by professional critics as one of the most versatile musicians born in the 90s, David Moliner studied with Pascal Dusapin and Jörg Widmann at the Haute École de Musique de Genève, Universität der Künste Berlin and Akademie Barenboim Said Berlin.
His compositional aesthetic has been quickly seen as pioneering new genres, inventing new forms such as: Eglogas, Masquerades, Mystiques, Estructuras, Entes or Esoterics. His sound conception is framed by the dimensional dialectic expression that acquires a total value through the bodysound world dynamism. He has written orchestral music, chamber music, and solo. His works are published through Universal Edition.
His music has been performed by leading orchestras such as: Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra, West Divan Orchestra, Valencia Symphony Orchestra, ADDA Simfònica, Spanish Youth National Orchestra, Barenboim-Said Akademie Orchestra, by ensembles such as: SWR Vokalensemble, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Recherche or Plural Ensemble and for soloists such as Jörg Widmann, Christian Dierstein or Lorelei Dowling.
He has received some awards such as the Vibraphone Competition of the Italian Percussion Arts Society Universität der Künste-Composition Prize Berlin and the Roche Young Commissions of the Lucerne Festival. He published a CD with his most representative chamber works for the label NEOS.
As a percussion soloist he has played his own percussion music in concert halls such as the Philharmonie Berlin, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, KKL Luzern, Philharmonie Paris, Konzerthaus Berlin, Tinguely Museum Basel or in Guggenheim Bilbao for its 25th anniversary. He has played with conductors such as Simon Rattle, Peter Eötvös or Matthias Pintscher.
